Prove existence of God Allah to an atheist - Logical Discussion

Do you know how to prove

The Existence of God Allah to an atheist? Read the below discussion

M: Excuse me sir
Do you know what's the real purpose of your life?

NM= There's no purpose in life I'm atheist

M: Excuse me can I prove to you that there is a Creator?

NM: That’s impossible (or looks surprised)

M: There are four proofs or pieces of evidence for the existence of a Creator

Firstly: The Law of Cause and Effect or Causality (Cosmological Argument)
Everything that exists must do so either because
1. It created itself or
2. It always existed or
3. Something caused it to happen
1. Something cannot create itself because it would have to exist and not exist at the same time.

2. Something cannot always exist as there must be a point at which things started. It is not possible to go back infinitely or forever.

3. Therefore something caused it to happen – causality. The ultimate cause for everything is, we believe, the Creator. You are probably wondering who made this Creator.

NM: Yes, who made The Creator?

M: If you are asking this question then you are really talking about something called Infinite Regress. Which means the Creator was made by another Creator who was made by another Creator and so on. This cannot happen as there must be an ultimate cause for everything that is uncreated. Otherwise you would go on forever. Does that make sense?

Sorry can I ask you another question; do you think that the Universe is finite or infinite?

NM: I don’t really know. Probably finite, it can’t go on forever

M: Yes it is finite. Most scientists agree that the universe is finite and started with a big bang and it is still expanding – This is ‘The Big Bang Theory’

M: Question is, was it just ‘matter’ that came into being, or even The Laws of The universe, including time?

NM: I don’t know

M: Scientists agree that it wasn’t just ‘matter’; but The Laws of The Universe including time that came into being. Therefore, The Laws of The Universe are within this finite universe in which space and time are linked together. Therefore he is not limited by space and time. He does not have a beginning and does not need a Creator. A physicist would agree that anything outside this Universe is outside This Space Time Continuum.

Secondly: The Design and Fine Tuning of The Universe (Teleological Argument). The second piece of evidence for the existence of The Creator is the complexity and The Fine tuning in the design of the universe. This shows ‘intelligence’ in the design. This intelligence would point to an intelligent being; who is The Creator.

The key words are ‘Fine-tuning.’ The universe is finely tuned or just rightly balanced the way it is. Do you know what I mean?

• The fine-tuning of the universe must be due to either 1. physical necessity, 2. Chance, 3. Design.

• It is not due to 1. Physical necessity or 2. Chance; as it is almost impossible to be the way it is by pure chance. I’ll explain later.
• Therefore, it has to be due to design.
For Example:
The rate of expansion after
The Big Bang had to fall within certain precise limits, for it to work

• If the rate of expansion had been slightly slower —by one part in millions— then gravity would have caused it to all collapse in a big crunch.

If the rate of expansion had been slightly faster —

  By one part in millions—

Then gravity couldn’t pull any of the matter together to form planets, stars and even gases!

Another example of fine tuning

Our universe is a low entropy universe. Where entropy is the randomness of particles of the universe. The probability of this happening by chance is very very low. Prof. Roger Penrose of oxford university, has calculated that the probability of this low entropy universe occurring by chance is 10 to the power of 10 to the to the power of 123 to one.

(Professor Roger Penrose – Oxford     (Awarded the: Wolf Prize with Stephen Hawking)

Thirdly: The lives of certain very good human beings who came with an identical message and claimed that Almighty God spoke to them in some way.
These were The Messengers of God. There were many Messengers or     Prophets. For example: Noah, Abraham, Moses, David, Solomon, Joseph, Jacob, Jesus and finally Muhammad (Peace be upon the all).
To prove that they were sent by Almighty God, they all performed miracles. They claimed that they performed these miracles with the power of Almighty God.
For example:
• Moses (PBUH) parted The Red Sea (with God’s power) and the children of Israel escaped from The Pharaoh.
• Jesus (PBUH) brought the dead back to life, healed the leper and cured the person who was born blind; all with God’s power.
• Muhammad (PBUH) was given a miracle at least as great as, if not greater than, the miracles given to the earlier Prophets. This miracle is present today and it is The Qur’an.
There are three possibilities these people were either
1) Lying
2) Deluded (or Mad)
3) True Prophets of Almighty God
The first two can be rejected because of their incredibly good character and the fact they neither wanted nor achieved any worldly benefit from their message. Therefore they must have been prophets of All-Mighty God.

Fourthly: The Miraculous Qur’an. This book is a miracle for a number of reasons. This book is the real proof that; there is A Creator that Muhammad was a true Prophet of Almighty God and that Islam is true.

And  Islam is not the name of some unique religion presented for the first time by Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) who should, on that account be called the founder of Islam.

The Qur'an states that Islam - the complete submission of man before his one and only Unique Creator - is the one and only faith and way of life consistently revealed by God to humankind from the very beginning. Noah, Solomon, David, Abraham, Moses, Isaac and Jesus - prophets who appeared at different times and places - all propagated the same faith and conveyed the same message of Tawheed (Oneness of God), Risaalat (Prophethood) and Aakhirah (the Hereafter). These prophets of God were not founders of different religions to be named after them. They were each reiterating the message and faith of their predecessors.

However, Muhammad (pbuh) was the last Prophet of God. God revived through him the same genuine faith which had been conveyed by all His Prophets. This original message was earlier corrupted and split into various religions by people of different ages, who indulged in interpolations and admixture. These alien elements were eliminated by God, and Islam - in its pure and original form - was transmitted to humankind through Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

Since there was to be no messenger after Muhammad (pbuh), the Book revealed to him (i.e. the Qur'an) was preserved word for word so that it should be a source of guidance for all times.

The miracle of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), i.e. the Qur'an, is for all times

All the previous Prophets of God were sent only to their people and their nation and their complete message was meant for a particular time period. Therefore the miracles they performed such as parting of sea by Prophet Moses (pbuh), giving life to the dead by Prophet Jesus (pbuh), etc. convinced the people of that time but these miracles cannot be analyzed and verified by us today.

Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is the last and final Messenger of God, sent for the whole of humankind and the message he delivered is for eternity. The Qur'an says:

"We sent you (Prophet Muhammad) not but as a mercy for all creatures." (Al-Qur'an 21:107)

Therefore the miracle of the last and final Messenger should also be everlasting, examinable and verifiable by people of all ages, after its revelation. Though Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) performed several miracles as are mentioned in the Hadith (recorded traditions, sayings and actions of the Prophet), he never emphasized them. Though we Muslims believe in these miracles we only boast of the ultimate miracle given to him by Almighty God, which is the Qur'an.

Al-Qur'an is the miracle of all times which proved itself to be a miracle 1400 years ago and which can be reconfirmed today and forever. In short, it is the Miracle of M

Importance of Muharram - First month of Islamic Calendar

MUHARRAM

Month of Muharram

Muharram literally means "Forbidden". It is one of the four sacred months during which waging a war and fighting is not allowed.

Allah says in the Holy Quran:

“Surely the number of months with Allah is twelve months in Allah’s ordinance since the day when He created the heavens and the earth, of these four being sacred; that is the right reckoning; therefore be not unjust to yourselves regarding them.” [Surah 9 :At-Taubah, Verse 36]

Prophet Muhammad (saw) informed us about the four sacred months in the following narration:

“The year is of twelve months, out of which four months are sacred: Three are in succession Dhul-Qa’ da, Dhul-Hijja and Muharram, and (the fourth is) Rajab…” [Bukhari Vol 004, Book 054, Hadith 419.

Junaid Baghdadi has said,

“Assess each moment of life by evaluating how closer you have come to Allah Subhaan’o wa Ta’ala, how far you have distanced yourself from Shaitan, how closer you have come to Jannah and how far you have moved away from Jahannum.”So Begin the New Year with a fresh resolution and a renewed enthusiasm. Gear up for it physically and mentally by making a resolve to:

• Strengthen your relationship with Allah

Subhaan’o wa Ta’ala
• Return to your worships with renewed enthusiasm and diligence

• Improve upon serving your parents well and giving the relatives their rights

• Refocus on the moral/Islamic upbringing of your family and children

• Plan further learning and self-development

• Seek to participate in social work for the betterment of those less fortunate than yourselves in the society

Masnoon Acts

The Significance of Muharram can be best understood by the saying of Prophet Muhammad saw narrated by Abu Huraira (ra)

“The most excellent fast after Ramadan is in Allah’s month; al-Muharram, and the most excellent prayer after what is prescribed is prayer during the night.” [Muslim 6: 2661]

Prophet Muhammad (saw) called Muharram “Allah’s Month” which shows its importance and sanctity and the fasts of the month of Muharram are most reward able ones among the

Nafl (voluntary) fasts.

Fasting on Ashura

The entire month of Muharram is sacred and special and fasting on any day of Muharram has special rewards from Allah, but the 10th  of Muharram, called

Ashura holds a more significant position than the rest of the days.

We know from a number of authentic traditions that in the beginning, fasting on the day of

Ashura was obligatory for the Muslims. It was later when the fasts of Ramadan were made obligatory that the fast on the day of

Ashurawas made optional.

Narrated by Aisha (ra):

“The people used to fast on ‘Ashura (the tenth day of the month of Muharram) before the fasting of Ramadan was made obligatory. And on that day the Ka’ba used to be covered with a cover. When Allah made the fasting of the month of Ramadan compulsory, Allah’s Apostle said, “Whoever wishes to fast (on the day of ‘Ashura’) may do so; and whoever wishes to leave it can do so.”[Bukhari Vol 02, Book 026, Hadith Number 662]

However, Rasul Allah saw used to fast on the day of Ashura even after fasting in Ramadan was made obligatory.

Atonement of Sins

Fasting on the day of Ashura expiates the sins of the previous year as told by our Prophet Muhammad saw.

“Abu Qatada al-Ansari (Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) was asked about his fasting… He was asked about fasting on the day of ‘Ashura (10th of Muharram), whereupon be said: It expiates the sins of the preceding year…”[Muslim: Book 06: Hadith 2603]

Historical PerspectiveHazrat Musa (as) and his people the Bani Israel were saved from the Egyptian Pharaoh by the miracle of the parting of the sea on the day of Ashura. It was for this reason that the Jews used to fast on this day. Prophet Muhammad (saw) also then ordered the Muslims to fast on the day of Ashura as well.

Ibn e Abbas  ra narrated:

“When the Prophet came to Medina, he found (the Jews) fasting on the day of ‘Ashura’ (i.e. 10th of Muharram). They used to say: “This is a great day on which Allah saved Moses and drowned the folk of Pharaoh. Moses observed the fast on this day, as a sign of gratitude to Allah.” The Prophet said, “I am closer to Moses than they.” So, he observed the fast (on that day) and ordered the Muslims to fast on it. [ Bukhari: Vol 4, Book 055, Hadith Number 609]

Command to distinguish the Muslim fast of Ashura with the fast of the JewsIbn ‘Abbas ra reported:

”When the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) fasted on the day of ‘Ashura and commanded that it should be observed as a fast, they (his Companions) said to him: Messenger of Allah, it is a day which the Jews and Christians hold in high esteem. Thereupon the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: When the next year comes, God willing, we would observe fast on the 9th But the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) died before the advent of the next year.” [ Musim : Book 006, Hadith Number 2528]

Abdullah ibn Abbas (ra) also reported that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) had said:

“If I live till the next (year), I would definitely observe fast on the 9th.[ Muslim: Book 006, Hadith Number 2529]

Hence, one should combine another day with the fast of Ashura and fast on either the 9th and 10th of Muharram or the 10th and 11th in order to distinguish the Muslim way of fasting from that of the Jews.

Be Mindful Of The Sanctity Of Muharram

Regarding the four sacred months, Allah subhana watala says in the Quran,

“so wrong not yourselves during these months” (At-Tawbah :36)

Thus one should take special care so as not to commit any act which may displease Allah Azzawjal by avoiding all acts of disobedience, sins, innovations and wrong doings.

Muharram is one of the sacred months and should be revered in all its holiness. Everything that is contrary to its sanctity should be avoided to the utmost.

• Avoid all types of quarrels, arguments and disputes.

• Honor the life, wealth and honor of your fellow beings.

Ibn’e Abbas narrates that the Prophet Muhammed SAW spoke the following on the event of the Last Pilgrimage,

‘Your blood, wealth and honor are as sacred upon each other as the sanctity of this day of yours, in this month of yours, in this city of yours.’ [Sahih Bukhari]

Is this message of the Holy Prophet not enough for us?

• Protect yourselves from hurting, offending, insulting or harming others by the tongue or hand.

• Do not disrespect or revile any of the blessed companions of Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) regarding whom Allah azzawjal said,

“Allah is well-pleased with them as they are well-pleased with Him.”

(At-Tawbah :100)And Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) said,

“None should revile my Companions. for if one amongst you were to spend as much gold as Uhud, it would not amount to as much as one mudd of one of them or half of it” (Sahih Muslim)
• In case of any conflict or discord, let go of all grudges, forgive and forget and spread the message of peace and harmony by your words and deeds.

May Allah guide us all to the straight path. Ameen

The Virtues of Fasting in the Month of Muharram and Its First Ten Days.
Muslim reported from Abu Hurayra (Allah be pleased with him), that the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said , The best of fasts after the month of Ramadan are in the Month of Allah, which you call Muharram. And the best of prayer after the obligatory prayer is the night prayer. [Muslim, 1163]

Abu Qatadah (R.A) narrated that :the Prophet (S.A.W) said: "Fast the Day of Ashura, for indeed I anticipate that Allah will forgive (the sins of) the year before it." (Sahih).‏
